The Family Guidance & Outreach Center of Lubbock is proud to annouce a new line of coloring books designed to both help parents explain divorce to preschoolers and youngsters understand the traumatic upheaval in their families. Two titles are available, one for boys and one for girls.

My Family Is Changing

A program for kids, ages 7-12 to increase their understanding of divorce and changes it brings to the family. This program also has a second chapter on parents dating, remarriage and blended families.

What is a Family?

This program was designed for High School Students. The program includes information on family systems, family roles, divorce, relationships in dating, warning sign of abusive personality and planning for your future.

Bonding With Your Step-Child/Foster Child

This program focuses on beginning a relationship of trust and consistency with a child. The focus is on understanding there has been a loss to the child before this new living arrangement occurred. The new step parent can act positively as an ally, supporter and reliable adult in the child’s life while still supporting the biological parent’s role in the child’s life.

Inside Blended Families

This program interviews four couples and five children who live a real blended family life. The parents talk about their challenges, successes and give tips to families on what worked for them.
