April is Child Abuse Prevention & Awareness Month

While April, which is Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness Month, brings special attention to our mission to prevent child abuse and neglect, our work continues throughout the entire year. In 2010, 242 children in Texas lost their lives due to abuse and neglect. Each April, we distribute 30,000 blue ribbons, which are generously donated by Covenant Health System and which state "It shouldn't hurt to be a child." We ask that you wear a blue ribbon throughout the month of April to show your support of child abuse prevention and to honor the children of Texas who have died as a result of abuse or neglect. If you are interested in getting blue ribbons for your staff or group to wear during April, please contact Brooke at 806-747-5577 or bgarth.fgoc@gmail.com
