Thank you for making the 2009 Blue Ribbon Rally Car & Bike Show our biggest and best event yet!
The 11th Annual 2009 Blue Ribbon Rally Car & Bike Show was bigger and better than ever! This free all-day event, which featured a car and bike show with awards, multiple vendors, live entertainment, a children's area, a live auction, and a drawing for a new 2009 Harley-Davidson Street Glide, raised in excess of $100,000! All of the money raised will stay right here in Lubbock to fund our programs and services and to help prevent child abuse and neglect. Thank you to each and every one of our sponsors, vendors, volunteers, and participants for making this year's rally such a success. You can see lots of photos from the rally at http://spotted.lubbockonline.com/galleries/index.php?id=440163. Please also help us thank our sponsors (a full list can be found on our Fundraising page), and please go to www.blueribbonrally.com or call 806-747-5577 for information about next year's event!

Child Abuse Prevention a Year-Long Mission

While the month of April, which is Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness Month in Texas, brings special attention to our mission, Family Guidance & Outreach Center of Lubbock works to raise awareness of child abuse and neglect throughout the year. In 2008, 220 children in Texas lost their lives due to abuse and neglect. Each April, we ask that you wear a blue ribbon to show your support of child abuse prevention and to honor the children of Texas who have died from abuse or neglect ( Read the Story of the Blue Ribbon). During the rest of the year, we ask that you to continue to focus on ways to not only protect children from abusive environments, but to prevent that abuse from ever occurring.
