Anger Management Programs for Children
Family Guidance & Outreach Center of Lubbock is proud to offer Anger Wranglers, a cowboy-themed anger management program especially for children ages 7, 8, and 9, and Dino-Might Tykes, a dinosaur-themed anger management curriculum for children ages 3, 4, 5, and 6. These five-part courses help children to take control of their anger. Children learn how to manage anger through discussion, role play, and crafts. Anger Wranglers presentations are available through the YW-CAre Child Care Programs; at this time, we are only able to offer facilitator curriculum training for Dino-Might Tykes. Facilitator training for the Anger Wranglers curriculum also is available. For more information, please call 806-747-5577 or email us at familyguidance@nts-online.net.

April is Child Abuse Prevention & Awareness Month

While April, which is Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness Month, brings special attention to our mission to prevent child abuse and neglect, our work continues throughout the entire year. In 2009, 280 children in Texas lost their lives due to abuse and neglect. Each April, we distribute 30,000 blue ribbons, which are generously donated by Covenant Health System and which state "It shouldn't hurt to be a child." We ask that you wear a blue ribbon throughout the month of April to show your support of child abuse prevention and to honor the children of Texas who have died as a result of abuse or neglect ( Read the Story of the Blue Ribbon). If you are interested in getting blue ribbons for your staff or group to wear next April, please contact Brooke at 806-747-5577 or bgarth.fgoc@gmail.com
